William Blake project

William Blake was an English poet and a painter. He's known for his vibrant expressiveness, creativity and for the philosophical and mystical undercurrents within his works. His work, as well as his work method, paintings and poems are rightfully fascinating.
Our project involved working on one of W. Blake poems ‘Earth’s Answer’ in a variety of ways. Everyone in the group translated the well-appreciated artwork in wildly different and diverse ways, proving that people interpret literary works differently. We do so, because the lens through which we see them vary.
As we were in the process of creating our own collages or drawings to show how we would interpret the poem visually, it became clear that our understanding of his poem couldn't have been more than different. Many pieces were created, so we came together to discuss our work.
While working on the project we visited William Blake exhibition in the Museum of Fine Arts. Taking our time to look at the details of his work we were amazed at how sublime and great his talent really was.
I would sincerely recommend visiting the art gallery at least once a year, for example the William Blake exhibition “the marriage of heaven and hell” because it improves deductive reasoning, creative thinking and cultural awareness.
As our project came to an end, we tried to relate his ideas to the present day, writing different stories inspired by his poems. It was a really interesting project, and we learnt a lot together about art and poetry.
